Seafair offers you the chance to play an active role in celebrating summer by volunteering for one or all of the 2010 Seafair Festival Events. Join nearly 5,000 volunteers who help to make Seafair possible, experience the joy of having an impact on your community and fulfillment by enriching the lives of others. Seafair is Seattle's Summer Celebration.

The volunteer opportunities are endless and no matter your interest, Seafair guarantees there’s something for everyone. Come be apart of history as Seafair partners with Elite Racing to bring you the Rock 'n' Roll Seattle Marathon & 1/2 Marathon. Last year the event sold out with over 25,000 marathon and half marathon participants! Music makes up the heart and "sole" of this event. Live Seattle bands will be performing a variety of music from alternative to classic rock, punk, funk and blues to jazz it up. The course also features lively cheer teams and water stations every mile. Volunteers are needed to assist with every aspect of the event. These positions include setup, pre-registration, the health & fitness Expo, start line, finish line, water stations and course monitors.

It's Seafair's largest summer boat race...on Green Lake. Powered by summer and fueled by fun, nothing kicks off the Seafair Summer better than the excitement and creativity of the Allstate Milk Carton Derby. Volunteers are needed to assist staff with directing setup procedures, monitoring the kids show and assisting our recycling efforts on our Green Team!

The Seafair Torchlight Run is a must do for all sports enthusiasts and casual runners alike. Volunteer today for Seattle's best road race of the summer, with more than 300,000 of your biggest fans lining the streets of Downtown Seattle. Volunteers are needed to assist staff with registration, packet distribuation, water stations and the award ceremony.

As Seattle's jewel for 61 years, the Alaska Airlines Torchlight Parade at Seafair draws an annual 300,000 on-site spectators and an additional 700,000 television viewers, as well as remote radio broadcasts from stations along Fourth Avenue. It is the largest nighttime parade in the Northwest and the most spectacular! Volunteers are needed to carry banners, usher the VIP bleacher section, set up the Pre-Event Parade and support staff on the Seafair Green Team.

The Seafair Hydroplane Race and Air Show is the culmination of the month-long Seafair Festival and is undoubtedly the "Seafair weekend" that thousands look forward to each Summer. The action-packed weekend includes the fastest powerboats in the world, the Unlimited Hydroplanes and the Lights class with its high-intensity, deck-to-deck racing. Volunteers are needed to assist staff in every aspect of this high energy event.

Requirements

• Volunteers are recommended to be 16 years of age or older, however exceptions can be made for those participating as part of an organized and supervised group such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Sporting teams, etc. or a parent who will be with the youth volunteer throughout the entire shift.
• The information obtained on this site will only be used by the Seafair Festival staff. We will not share, trade, sell or give access to your personal information to any other organization without your permission.
